Choi On The Go (COTG) by Annette Cheung, Marielle Wall, and Mischa Price

Choi On The Go (COTG) is a mobile produce service aimed to reconnect low-income Asian seniors back to their cultural foods. They provide easy access to culturally relevant, recycled vegetables at an affordable price - all while sourcing everything from local farmers!

During this event, they are inviting people from all walks of life to support the seniors living in the Downtown Eastside and Chinatown by coming to their stand to learn about Choi (Chinese vegetables) and recycled produce. They will have fresh sustainable choi for sale, choi education pamphlets, and tips on how you can grow your own Chinese garden! With the money raised, they hope to donate it to Yarrow Intergenerational Society to help expand their senior services and continue to help the elders thrive.

About Choi On The Go team
Choi On the Go

Choi On The Go is the work of three design students and one very special Chinatown activist. Their current team—Annette Cheung, Marielle Wall, and Mischa Price—met while studying at SFU where they bonded over their love for community engagement. COTG started as a school project in Fall 2017, and ever since then, they have continued to work with food and seniors.

Their passion for food and elders are deeply inspired by Godfrey Tang, a senior who helped them during their first prototypes of COTG. He taught them the importance of empathy for elders and about the power food can have on culture – and they are happy to share those teachings with you.
